And I have no problem whatsoever in admitting that this song is epic. Because that’s just what it is: epic. You’ve got the orchestra, you’ve got Axl Rose & Slash doing their (respective) things and you’ve got a melodramatic music video - and all of it clocks in at a little bit over nine minutes! That’s an epic terrace on the castle walls of every other epic rock song that came before.
Right. Unexpected metaphor/analogy is over now.
And, of course, Use Your Illusion II came out the same year & we got this gem as well.
