You know what is great about posting this song/video? I got to post it in 2011 (when this track was a punch-you-in-the-gut single) & I get to post it now.
And why do I get to post this song/video now? Because 1991, Bank’s four-song EP, is ‘official’ this year… and it is also officially fan-fucking-tastic. Need further proof? Check out ‘Liquorice’… Yeah, yeah that’s right.
Not content to sit on her laurels, though, Azealia Banks also released Fantasea this year - a great, full-length smorgasbord (i.e., mixtape) of wicked-good hip-hop (with some excellent producers attached, such as Diplo and Machinedrum).
What does all of this mean, people? It means that - along with Grimes - this is the woman who owned the year. Dig it if you dare - and you should.
