As I sit here and look at my list of favorite songs for the entire year of 2012, I am struck by one fact in particular: I really, really love electronic music.
But this reality is not new to me; I’ve been a fan of electronic music (and pretty much all of the little sub-genres therein) for a long time.
However, one of the few rules I have for making my ‘Best Of’ list every year is that, with the last day of December, I want the list to be done. And this year I fear I would run out of time with all the music I have on this list of mine.
And so I give to you, dear listener, a decent chunk of the electronic music that has made this list (by no means all but definitely some of the best).
Best Electronica of 2012:
Germany Germany w/Kotomi - With You
Figure of 8 feat. Sophie Galpin - No One Cries For Me
Taquwami - Ƒắη†Δ§ỷ
Tours - Grand Lux
The Whendays - Untru Love II (The Whendays Nu Love Mix)
Pro Luxe - In My World
VVV - Together (inside us)
Moon Boots feat. violetness - Running From
The Womb - Home Planet
Stumbleine feat. CoMa - The Beat My Heart Skips

Maribou State feat. Saint Saviour - Scarlett Groove
Wakes ya up & shakes ya up. Diggin’ it.
Germany Germany - With You (feat. Kotomi)
Victoria, BC’s Drew Harris went long n’ deep for this track. He calls it “the most pop-sensible songs I’ve ever made” and features vocals by upstart Lauren Hillman, a talented new LA-based producer. It’s a raver slick as velvet.
This single joins the rad cover of the Drive soundtrack’s key number “Real Hero” on the Blank Mind Empty Heart LP, out July 20th.
